PLANNING FOR A BASIC WEB SITE I

Description:
First of a series of 3 workshops designed to provide business owners with the information needed to create their web site quickly. Discussion about how to name your web site and registering that name so only your company can use it. We will review what type of information should be on the web site, and how to gather it together. Finally, will review maintaining your web site, listing your web site with search engines, and, most importantly, estimated costs for these services. All attendees will receive a cost breakdown Excel spreadsheet for identifying costs and planning their web site. This will be a hands-on workshop, and attendance will be limited to 15 people.

Pre-Requisite: Familiar with surfing the Internet with a web browser using a pc; basic computer literacy; in the process (or soon will be) of developing or maintaining your own web site; familiar with basic Internet terms such as ISP for Internet Service Provider. Pre-registration is required.

TOOLS TO CREATE A WEB SITE II

Description:
This is the second and final workshop in a series of 2 that provide business owners with the information needed to create their web site quickly. Will begin by discussing the language of the Internet, HTML. The workshop reviews available tools to create the web site, pros vs. cons, and related fees. Two simple web sites will be created using an online tool and Microsoft Front Page.

Pre-Requisite: Familiar with surfing the Internet with a web browser using a pc; basic computer literacy; in the process (or soon will be) of developing or maintaining your own web site; familiar with basic Internet terms such as ISP for Internet Service Provider. Pre-registration is required.
